Carpathian forest is an enigma and a stand-alone in the Norwegian black metal scene. Don't get me wrong, it is not because of their music which is largely entrenched in the second greeting of black metal but rather Nattefrosts' intransigent image coupled following his oppressive drug use and dare I say sex addiction and his amalgamation following themes which are not usually united subsequently the simple shock-satanism employed by the majority of the second acceptance of black metal bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone and a plethora of additional bands that can retrace their records to the to the lead to mid-90s. Carpathian forest has been rather inactive upon the studio front for more than a decade, largely devoting their time giving stupid interviews and put on an act easily-forgettable shows. previously this piece of solution steaming shit came out, I could have easily confirmed that Carpathian plant belonged to my top 10 black metal bands. I have loving memories of my experience listening to "Black shining Leather" and "Defending the Throne of Evil". Those two albums played a decisive role in molding me into the black metal user that I am nowadays. And I'll all the time be grateful to this band for producing such impeccable, monumental releases of complete evil and hatred.
Any genuine aficionada of carpathian forest Carpathian forest would have been fucking stoked on hearing the news of the upcoming liberty of this EP, alas however, behind most of us finally bought this fragment of crap upon bandcamp or on vinyl, we were taken aback by the sheer narcissism that the band has exposed. This EP is a one-big fuck you to every the fans and an obvious try at making grant out of solution blockheaded fans later than me who instantly bought this fragment of shit on its release. What the fuck were these guys thinking honestly? I continue to question myself whether the band is in point of fact either in financial dire-straits, or either felt compelled to pardon something but putting the least amount of effort, or whether they felt later than unconditionally putting their bands' say to shame. Okay, sufficient of me sulking in my own despair, let's get to the genuine deal; the "music" we're presented later than on this mini-album, if you can even call it that. I'm familiar that EPs should mostly remain as concise as realizable and meet the expense of without help a glance of things to come, but holy hell, there's a fine stock in the middle of keeping your take effect concise and helpfully releasing one native track and a awful rendition of a rock song.
You see, this "EP" deserted has two songs: Likeim the lonesome indigenous track upon this EP which clocks in at vis--vis 2:30 minutes, and a lid of Turbonegro's renowned single "All My friends Are Dead". There's nothing truly much to say virtually "Likeim". It's a generic crust-punk influenced semi-black metal song, subsequently some hints of unchanging close metal attitude thrown in there for fine measure. The riffs are repetitive and enormously forgettable. The sound of the drums sounds organic enough, however, the emphasis is too repetitive and sounds uninspired as hell. To wrap this song up in a few words, I can solitary judge it as an average try at punk black metal which has been over and done with exaggeration bigger by further bands such as Darkthrone(sticking to bands of the same magnitude of popularity and influence). The second track as I've already mentioned is a cover. There isn't much to tell practically it, it's just a heavier bank account of the native minus the radical and sarcastic energy of the original song. needy showing subsequently again. I suggest that nobody buys this piece of crap as it is not worth it. I'm not going to even comment upon the artwork, because it looks gone a half-assed attempt at looking chaotic and punk; two traits which aren't authentically summoned in this EP.
Stay away at every cost.
